Today marks World Hearing Day, and we reached out to some friends and colleagues to find out what hearing means to them!
Hearing is obviously one of our core senses, those whose hearing is compromised need to rely on other senses to compensate and gain access to information around them. One of the areas most affected in this case is communication. The d/Deaf use mechanical language to communicate effectively e.g. ASL, LSQ), or listening devices such as Cochlear Implants, Hearing Aids or Bone Anchored Hearing Systems to access sounds and speech around them.
